Handwork is often regarded as a personal/private practice, but the knowledge of it should be seen from a much broader social perspective, as throughout history it has linked people and communities together.
Crocheting in a social setting allows us to experience communication and community in a new way, where language often raises barriers, handwork activity creates bridges.
